Event 3 – Soho and West Village (October 2024)

Our third pizza crawl took us to the iconic neighborhoods of Soho and the West Village, where we indulged in some of the best slices NYC has to offer. With a mix of old-school classics and modern favorites, this crawl was one for the books!

Stop #1: Lucia Pizza of Soho

📍 375 Canal St, New York, NY 10013

We kicked things off at Lucia Pizza of Soho, a relative newcomer that has quickly made a name for itself. Known for its expertly charred crust and high-quality ingredients, Lucia serves up some of the best classic NYC-style slices in the area. Their cheese slice is simple yet perfected—a perfect balance of crispy, chewy, and flavorful.

Stop #2: Famous Ben’s Pizza

📍 177 Spring St, New York, NY 10012

A true Soho institution, Famous Ben’s Pizza has been serving the neighborhood since the 1970s. While they have an excellent traditional slice, their Sicilian-style grandma slice stole the show. Thick, cheesy, and loaded with rich tomato sauce, it was the kind of slice that makes you slow down and savor every bite.

Stop #3: Artichoke Basille’s Pizza

📍 111 MacDougal St, New York, NY 10012
Google Maps

Artichoke Basille’s Pizza is famous for its rich, decadent Artichoke slice. Creamy, cheesy, and almost like a spinach-artichoke dip on a crispy crust, it’s one of the most unique slices in NYC. While it’s not for everyone (some might find it a bit heavy), it’s an experience worth trying at least once.

Stop #4: Mama’s TOO! Pizzeria West Village

📍 325 Bleecker St, New York, NY 10014

We wrapped up our crawl at Mama’s TOO! in the West Village, a spot known for its inventive flavors and dough perfection. The Upside-Down slice, with its crispy edges and perfectly layered sauce and cheese, was a standout. If you’re a fan of crispy-yet-airy dough, this place is a must-visit.

Final Thoughts

Each stop on this crawl brought something different to the table, from classic New York slices to thick Sicilian and unique creamy artichoke creations. The best part? Sharing these delicious slices with fellow pizza lovers and exploring the city one bite at a time.

If you missed this crawl, don’t worry—our next one is just around the corner! Stay tuned for more pizza adventures. 🍕
